This is the second part of the course: How to check if the firmware was fully loaded or not. We are going to focus on Western Digital and Hitachi hard drives in this class.

- identify marvell series through PCB
- ROM CHECKSUM and FAMILY
- firmware structures copies
- firmware structure fixed and not fixed (ROYL 20B)
- LOW SPEED for ROYLS and module map reading
- how to check if firmware booted correctly
- ROM and ATA matching
- ROM overlay modules
- LOAD MOD 11 for ROYL
- RES file usage
- SA head boot change in Data Compass (for ROYL)
HITACHI IBM DRIVES:
- firmware structure
- how to check if firmware booted correctly
- SA-A and SA-C booting
- NVRAM command set test
- NVRAM STRUCTURE
- NVRAM BOOT FLAG
- NVRAM CHECKSUM and OVERLAY MODULES
- RES file and USAG/RESF module
- read boot adaptive and APP code from surfaces
- reading modules from SA-C
This class will start from 16:00PM to 18:00PM, on June 29th (China Standard Time), and will be taught by Luca Marella from I.R.S. International Recovery Service in Italy.
