New critical update for Data Compass is available!

Today (September 29, 2009) SalvationDATA has a critical update for Data Compass released. This critical update has had the built-in algorithm for extracting data from HDD with severe bad sectors improved.
With the capacity of HDD and the user data volume increasing rapidly nowadays, based on our investigation and customer feedback, the most important need for data recovery becomes the speed of the data extraction process; by taking this into consideration, SalvationDATA Team spent lots of our energy on improving the extraction speed (especially for the HDD with severe bad sectors) of Data Compass, and today we have this new Data Compass with newly designed algorithm released. Depends on different situations, Data Compass with the new algorithm will save the users meaningful lots of time, compared with the previous version, in data extraction, which should be the most needed feature for customers who deal with HDD with huge data volume.
According to our lab, a 320GB Seagate drive with severe bad sectors after a head transplant cost 40 hours to extract all the data by using the old version of Data Compass; instead, by using the latest Data Compass with new algorithm, all data was extracted within 6 hours. It is very clear that Data Compass has achieved a great improvement in its extraction speed.
This critical update will be provided to all users of Data Compass as what we always do.

New Features:
1. Add the feature to view SMART attribute of HDD.

Click the button View SMART

In the window of View SMART Attribute, right-click your mouse will allow you two submenus: Refresh and Save to File. Selection of Refresh will display SMART attribute and selection of Save to File will allow you to save the attribute to txt file.

2. Optimize the algorithm for copying data from HDD with many bad sectors and the speed is much faster.
3. Add the source files of Hitachi 5432 and 5450 series for SA Emulation.

4. Integrate the two programs DCEXP.exe and DC Controller.exe, and now there is only DCEXP.exe left.
