JP4 jumper works with serial command transmitter to accomplish communication via com port of HDD, namely terminal mode. Due to frequent plug and unplug, JP4 is easy to be damaged. To solve the problem, SalvationDATA will add two jumper-pins (picture 2) in the package to be shipped to you, thus users can repair their damaged JP4. This is a document on how to repair it.

As shown in picture 1, the left is the damaged JP4. Users need jumper pins as shown in picture 2 to repair it.

Use an iron to unsolder the damaged jumper pins and replace with the intact good ones, as shown in picture 3.

Mine, after 2 uses, already broke...

First of all I would like to congratulate you for the new tech posts. Hopefully we would also see more of advanced tips and techniques.

It would be appropriate to supply extra jumpers to all customers, or at least to customers with valid warranty date.

Hi Edison. Thats great news. Mine broke after first use. But the spare one i glued with super glue and remove slowly now... Still ok.

There are 2 jumpers of the same type in HDD Doctor package. Didn't you get it in yours?
