4. Q: How to repair read-only HDD? |
A: Read-only problem can be caused by two reasons: Head or FW
First try to boot the HDD into SA and load a corresponding RAM file after HDD reset or HOT SWAP PCB and check whether the FW can be write or not. If not, means the head has problem, change head to get data. If yes, means the FW cause the problem and scan and repair the FW in SA. |

5. Q: Which kinds of HDD support the function of section/head depop? |

A: For 4D and the latter series HDD, you can carry out section/head depop. |

6. Q: A 4D040H2 HDD clicks at power on and can't be detected, but I want to get the data out. What should I do? |

A: Find a same type SA-A boot file to boot the HDD into SA. Check whether it stops clicking or not. If it stops clicking, you can detect modules and recover corrupted modules. If not, there may be some malfunction with the head. In such case, you have to open the case to replace the malfunction head. |

7. Q: The console sounds twice at power on when connecting a HDD to it and automatically power off, and it's the same at next power on. What should? |

A: Make sure the power cable connecting HDD and the console is in good contact. And independent power is recommended.I do? |

8. Q: How to operate HOT SWAP PCB? |
|
A:
First, find a good identical HDD and connect it to the console. Launch the program, and then stop the spindle motor only. Remove PCB with power on and install it on the malfunction HPA (Head and Platter Assembly). Then restart the motor, now you can operate on SA. |

9. Q: Why does the program report error when I backup ROM for 6L160P0033211 HDD? |

A: For 6E and 6Y series HDD, you could erase and read/write ROM directly; for other series, you need to remove the chip from the PCB and rewrite the chip using the provided Flash Programmer device. |
