Some of the WD Black I series drivers have that problem: connect to the console, it would
be “ready” status, but click any button, it shows “busy” and no response, and look at the
SN number, you could find it end with XYZ. As the picture shows:

The reason of this problem:
The ROM is not compatible with the ATA MOD. Many reason would cause this problem,
like PCB broken, PCB has been changed, ROM problem, ATA mod has been uploaded
and so on…

How to solve this problem(badsector repair):
1.  Find  another  good  driver  with  the  same  model,  same  PCB  edition  and  same  motor
model.  
2.  Backup the good driver’s mod.
3.  Change this PCB to the bad driver; connect it to the WD console.
4.  Upload the #11 mod.
5.  Off and on power, then it could be recognized truly. As follow:

PS:    
1.  Must find a good driver for backup.
2.  After the PCB change completed, when you power-on, it may cost 1 minute for ready.
3.  Be sure off-on power after upload MOD.
4.  If you couldn’t upload any mod after changed the PCB, maybe the head has problem.
