Data Recovery from a clicking drive using combination of SD data recovery tools |
3. Backup the P-list and G-list modules. (SD Data Recovery Tools case study)
After backup the P-list and G-list modules using the SD data recovery tools, power off the patient drive by using SD data recovery tools and connect the donor PCB to the donor drive.
Upload the 2 modules to the donor drive using SD data recovery tools.

4. Translator Regeneration. (SD Data Recovery Tools case study)
Go to Defects Lists Operation tab of SD data recovery tools and click Translator Regeneration. This operation will generate a new Primary Defect list and RBBList by the new P-list and G-list.
Actually, the donor drive will have a same Primary Defect list and RBBList module after Regeneration completed. That's why we generate the translator using the SD data recovery tools.

5. Repeat Step 1(2nd hot swap) (SD Data Recovery Tools case study)

The data stored on the patient drive can be accessed after hot swap PCB carried out by the SD data recovery tools. Now we can recover the data easily by SD phase 2 data recovery tools - Data Compass.
Last but not least: (SD Data Recovery Tools case study)
According to the case study above, we should know that there are 2 times hot swap PCB carried out by SD data recovery tools for a successful data recovery.
The 1st time is to backup the Primary Defect List module and the RBBList module using the SD data recovery tools. If anyone of them goes wrong we need to backup the P-list and G-list modules, then generate a new Primary Defect List module and the RBBList module using SD data recovery tools to access the data properly.
The 2nd time is to recover the data by reading them with thes Primary Defect List module and the RBBList module which are backup from the patient drive.
