Fix Seagate 7200.11 LBA=0 in the terminal

As is known to us all,the firmware bug is the Achilles’ heel for the Seagate 7200.11 drives. It will cause the the drives become undetectable by a computer. On the HD doctor for Seagate, the hdd status will keep busy and cannot get ready any more.

With HD doctor for Seagate, you can easily fix this problem by following the user manual. But for some drives, the LBA value can’t be restored by the one-click repair button.

Here is a case study.

fixlba1

The popup window shows the LBA=0 repair is completed.

fixlba2

Power off and on the console, but the LBA value is still 0,nothing changed.One-click repair failed.

fixlba3

Get into terminal,Press Ctrl+Z for T level. Then Input the command

m,2,,,,,22

Attention:CaSe InSeNsItIvE m not M

This command is used for re-calculating the checksum value of the p-list.The reason that LBA=0 is that there is something wrong with that.

fixlba4

Wait for the re-calculate procedure.

Power off and on the console again after it’s finished.

fixlba5

The LBA value has been restored and data on the drive can be accessed normally.
