Drives Set for the Shadow Disk

Drives Set for the Shadow Disk

In this article,we will introduce the Drive Set function for the shadow disk.A good combination can be accomplished with half the effort.

Focus on Unread Sectors
Simply speaking, only focus on the data that have not been shadowed before.Similarly, the data have been accessed successfully will be transferred to the shadowed disk, the data that failed to read will be reported as 4040 to the Operation System.

Focus on Read Sectors

Only read from the Shadowdisk. For those data that have not been shadowed, the program will report 4040 to the Operation System.

Ignore the first 100 sectors

This function is used to hide the first 100 sectors in order to avoid the Operation System trying to load the partition info of the patient drive. As we know, the MBR info occupy the first 63 sectors of every drive.OS can’t load the partition info when the first 100 sectors are hidden by DCEXP.

Why do we need to hide them?Because it will take a long time to load the partition info if there are many bad sectors in the MBR.What is more serious is that may cause the OS hang or get no response.

Intensive Read

Boosting the voltage of the head in order to maximize the read ability. But it may shorten the life time of the head. This function is not suggested to use for the first time you try to get back the data.

Ignore Shadowdisk

No matter the shadow has been built or not,the program will read from the source drive. All data on the shadowdisk and index will be re-built.In anther word,it means re-build a shadowdisk.

Normally,we need to active this function when there is something wrong with the content of the shadowdisk.

    Hi ,
Refer To The Comment on the top ,Is This True You Mean You Can Boost the Voltage on the Head To Get Data Out.Very Interesting On what All Drives And Models does this Work On
